Il Sole Sandra Jaquez gave up her Wall Street job to open a restaurant in her native Inwood. The largely Dominican neighborhood has plenty of rice-and-beaneries, so she chose to dish out Italian cuisine. Wood paneling, beige stone floors and intricate metalwork suggest a sun-drenched Mediterranean patio. The conventional starters include greaseless fried calamari and crisp broccoli sautéed in olive oil with slivers of smoky garlic. But the real Italian-American crowd-pleasers are linguine in red sauce topped with a pile of clams, and veal marsala with heaps of sliced mushrooms.
