Mama B’s Cafe and Juice Bar (CLOSED)

Two L stops from snarky Bedford Avenue, Mama B’s is worlds away in attitude. Here, cool refers to the temperature of the smoothies and juices that owner Alex Kahan has named for his favorite musicians (the Rev. Al Green is made with spinach, cucumber, apple and aloe vera). Fuel up for the day on rich, locally roasted coffee and a bagel, muffin or scone. The sandwiches—vegetarian, like everything else on the menu—include a take on the cheese steak using seitan, sautéed onions and red peppers, along with your choice of vegan or regular cheese. Mama B’s offers a garden in the summer and free wireless access anytime.
