Locals pile into this oldtimer nightly to feast on pub grub. The pub part is appealing—high-backed dark wood benches, tin ceilings, long bar, exposed brick and outdoor tables under the shade of leafy green trees—but the food isn’t. An appetizer of beef ribs was unremarkable except in its stickiness; the ribs were covered in a thick, red sappy sauce. A Cajun burger ordered medium arrived rare, greasy and with no hint of blackening spices. The regular Angus burger was properly cooked, but just as greasy. Two bright spots? The beer-battered onion rings and the sassy hostess with spiky hair and a cig tucked behind her ear.
