    Description
The brand-name chef behind this one-room Louisiana-centric eatery is consultant Jonathan Waxman (Barbuto). The actual chef: his longtime deputy, Andrew Curren. The combined talent doesn’t add up to much when it comes to the erratic menu, or the too-potent infused rums. Overcooked entrées like a burnt jambalaya and fried chicken cloaked in a fork-resistant coating overshadowed the menu’s occasional success (see the plump, juicy peel-and-eat shrimp and ethereal biscuits and ham). Desserts from pastry chef Mary-Catherine James might be the restaurant’s savior: a velvety Jack Daniel’s–spiked butterscotch pudding covered in caramelized bananas was close to redemptive.

I have been to this new establishment 3 times since they opened. It was lavishly delicious. I have read many things on this new place and I can say go there before you just read the opinions of others. The food was induldging and the pallet was satisfyed in full. They say many things but no one is touching on the fact that there desserts are simple but yet unique for the Big A Apple Pie I have ever left me in awh. My wife had the Truffle Bownie which should make the world book of Chocolate. Lets not forget the finish of a great meal is the Desset . Surviving the beginning is always the hardest hump but in my opinion they will preveil and only get better.
