Cesari Bruni (of Boom and East Post) has transformed the East Village’s Caffe Della Pace into his own Via Della Pace. Of course there are panini and focaccia sandwiches stuffed with Italian meats and cheeses. Entrées include veal scaloppine with ham, asparagus and truffle oil, and a popular poppy-seed-crusted grilled tuna steak. A downstairs bar is available for private parties, or simply for lounging with one of 180 regional Italian wines. Every month or so, Bruni offers up the deal of the century: a five-course tasting menu, with a different wine to accompany each course, for $25 per person.
