Description
Cooked up by a trio of Bouley alums, Bar Blanc is true to its name: Theres a white marble bar, the brick walls are sheathed in white plaster, and the seats are a snowy vinyl. But chef Cesar Ramirezs rich and classic food is anything but stark. An appetizer of pan-seared jumbo scallops is coated in orange-zest confit, and slow-cooked entrées, like fettuccine with mustard-braised rabbit and roasted tomatoes, reflect a chef who takes his time. Service can be equally slow, but excellent desserts, such as the roasted pineapple sliced thin in basil oil, make waiting for the check a pleasure.
