Don't be intimidated by the spiral-bound, ten-page menu at this homey-looking Astoria treasure; we'll give you the delicious highlights. Start with the halloumi ($8), hearty sheep-and-goat's-milk cheese that's grilled and served with lemon, or the sheftalia ($8), pork meatballs studded with green onions and herbs. The innovative children's menu includes pork kebab with Cypriot fries ($9). Though it won't be easy, save room for the shamali ($4.50), a honey-soaked semolina cake perfumed with cloves, cinnamon and rose water.

Being a Greek-American I tell Good Greek food. I've been going to Zenon for over 15 years and I can honestly say the food is constant in taste. It's the food your Greek Mama would cook if she knew how. It's always fresh and the ingrediants are up to par. It's a relaxed and children friendly environment. The service is always quick and with a smile. Everyone thinks they can cook Greek food but Zenon delivers 110 % authentic food, the owner even makes his own olive bread!
