Abrons Art Center and Clandestino
Conversationalists will enjoy this mellow date of a low-key jazz fusion concert followed by a cozy bar.
Thu Dec 13 2007
You won’t have to scream to your beloved over shredding guitars at Filipino trip-hop band Electric Kulintang’s show ($24 for two) at the Abrons Art Center on Fri 14 at 8pm. Part of a series curated by Melissa Caruso Scott, the co-owner of the now-defunct music venue Tonic, this trio’s low-key sound blends traditional Southeast Asian gongs, jazz and hypnotic laptop loops. 466 Grand St at Pitt St (212-598-0400)

Continue the eve’s mellow vibe with a quiet tte--tte over Guinness ($10 for two) and Brie on baguettes ($10 for two) at cozy bar Clandestino, where the dim lighting, low tin ceilings and rustic wood walls should put your companion at ease. 35 Canal St between Essex and Ludlow Sts (212-475-5505)
