Better sexing through the secrets of tantra

Cut to the chase with three easy intercourse exercises.

Does tantra pique your interest? Maybe you heard that musician Sting uses it to have sex sessions longer than your workday. Any serious practitioner will tell you that it’s a far broader experience. (And Sting himself told the Guardian in 2003 that “it’s a journey...[not] fucking for eight hours.”)

But if you are in it for the sex benefits, take this advice from Barbara Carrellas, author of Urban Tantra: Sacred Sex for the Twenty-First Century and Luxurious Loving: Tantric Inspirations for Passion and Pleasure. And don’t just walk up to any teacher at a workshop or gathering and ask for some mind-blowing sex: “Not all private sessions include erotic or tantric massage,” she says.

* Breathe: “The more you breathe, the more you feel. When we are young and just learning to be sexual, we learn to orgasm one unfortunate way. It’s called 'Be quiet, be quick.’ We hold our breath during sex and don’t feel all it can be.”

* Slow down: “Release orgasms as a goal. The magic is to be found in the conscious journey of sex, not by racing to a goal.”
