"I was once attacked by a hippo while on safari in Tanzania. We were in a very small boat with a motor and got stuck on the shoals after swerving to avoid hitting a hippo that popped out of the water. Usually the hippos move away from the noise of the motor, but this one got out of the water and charged us because we got too close. As he charged, the guide gunned the motor and we got unstuck---but almost flipped over. I didn't really realize how close it was until our guide asked us not to tell anyone at camp. It was pretty great. I'd go back."

His favorite date spot: "I like to go to whiskey or wine tastings throughout the city. It gives you something to talk about as opposed to just sitting there and thinking of things to say."
