Who he is: This 24-year-old native New Yorker and Parsons alum got his foot in the door by assisting Kenneth Cole before launching his own line in 2009. Now in his third season, Berardi's designs are still influenced by his childhood spent in high society locales like Manhattan's Upper East Side and Martha's Vineyard.
Why we like him: Berardi straddles the line between classic and fresh, designing super wearable clothes that are grown-up and feminine without looking too saccharine.
About the collection: Inspired by actress Jean Seberg in Jean-Luc Godard's 1960 film Breathless, Berardi opted for a beachy color palette (navy, khaki, gold and white) and amped up nautical pieces with modern details and luxurious fabrics. Standouts include a pleated trench coat with a zipper detail at the waist, light and airy dresses with whimsical capelets, and easy separates, like silk wrap blouses, gold sequined shorts and a pair of tribal print harem pants.—Aria Hughes
