Who she is: The Harvard grad interned at Marc Jacobs and Christian Dior before cutting her teeth working for Proenza Schouler and Rochas. In 2007, Kim launched her own label, Graey (graeyny.com).
Why we like her: Kim studied haute couture abroad, and it shows in her contemporary line, with unexpected details like electric-colored lace weaving through pants and rosette appliques lending texture and flair to extremely wearable pieces.
About the collection: For spring, Kim incorporated lace into most of her surf-inspired pieces, including sheer cut-out leggings, turtleneck crop tops and dresses, and even swimwear. Breezy harem pants, silk draped tops and effortless tank dresses in bright coral, turquoise and neon yellow were grounded by color blocks of gray, black, navy and cream.—Dana Kamerman
