Daniel Feldman of Feltraiger

Who he is: Four years ago, former punk rocker Daniel Feldman shifted careers from producing music to designing menswear. After touring as a musician (his band, Time Will Tell, played on the Vans Warped Tour in 2003), Feldman funneled his creative energy into fashion, headed back to school at Parsons and scored internships with clothing brands UNIS, Mishka and What Goes Around Comes Around before debuting his own line, Feltraiger, in September.

About the line: The locally made menswear brand is named for the designer's Russian ancestors; their family name, Feltraiger, was changed to Feldman at Ellis Island. Feldman is inspired by rebellious subcultures, like New York's so-called mole people, who were the muse for his debut fall collection of casual button-downs, grunge T-shirts and rugged jackets ($52--$320). The designer's affinity for the unconventional dates back to high school. "I was made fun of for my out-of-the-box style," he admits. "I wanted to look like the bands I loved and be the cool kid." In keeping with his individualistic spirit, each piece in the Feltraiger collection is a hand-numbered, limited-edition piece.

Where to find it: Online at feltraiger.com. Enter the code "TONY" at checkout for 20 percent off all purchases through December 25.
