Rose-Marie Swift of RMS Beauty (rmsbeauty.com)

Who she is: After experiencing anxiety, insomnia, immunosuppression, severe hair loss and hormonal health problems, Union Square resident Rose-Marie Swift learned that her body contained toxic levels of heavy metals, pesticides and other chemicals from her cosmetics. This discovery prompted her to launch a natural makeup brand formulated with raw, food-grade and organic ingredients, including rosemary and vanilla extracts, cocoa butter and sunflower oil. Enzymes and vitamins are included in their pure state, offering revitalizing benefits.

About the line: Though the minimalist, all-white, biodegradable packaging isn't attention-grabbing, the flattering hues are sure to garner compliments. Swift, who worked as a makeup artist for 20 years, even created a rose-hued Lip Shine balm called Moment ($25) for her client Gisele (perhaps you've heard of her?). Other products include lip2cheek dual-purpose stains ($36), cream eye shadows ($28), highlighting creams ($38), lip and skin balms ($25), a raw coconut cream ($18) and "un" cover-up ($36), which doubles as a concealer and a light foundation.

Buy it here: James Corbett Studio (32 Union Square East at 16th St; 212-388-1296, jamescorbett.net), Michael Angelo's Wonderland Beauty Parlor (418 W 13th St between Ninth Ave and Washington St; 212-524-2800, wonderlandbeautyparlor.com) and Shen Beauty (315 Court St between Degraw and Sackett Sts, Cobble Hill, Brooklyn; 718-576-2679, shen-beauty.com).
