Queens native and eyewear specialist Paraskevi Moundros spent more than 15 years working in the optical business before she opened her own shop in the heart of Astoria. Eros, named for the Greek god of love and beauty, offers a selection of brand-name men’s, women’s and children’s eyeglasses and sunglasses suited for any budget (prices range from just $25 up to $460). As a bonus, Moundros will beat or match the price of frames, lenses or contacts sold by any local store, and employees will fill prescription eyeglass orders in 45 minutes or less. Shade your peepers with Swarovski crystal–encrusted Miyagi frames ($130), classic Ray-Ban sunglasses ($145), Tom Ford aviators ($360) and Oliver Peoples thick-rimmed sunnies ($325). There’s also an on-site optometrist to provide eye exams for customers on Mondays and Thursdays ($30–$40).
