We already told you that Brooklyn's fashion scene is thriving, and here's yet more proof: Christian Dior is the latest big-name brand to schedule a runway show in the borough. Just like Alexander Wang during the recent New York Fashion Week, Dior is planning to show its collection (pre-spring 2015, to be exact) at the Duggal Greenhouse at the Brooklyn Navy Yard on May 7.
This news isn't exactly shocking, considering Brooklyn has been a style hot spot for some time now, but it will still be fun to see how the city's fashion folks react when it's time to actually make the trek to the show. (You may remember that the fashionistas weren't very enthusiastic about heading to Brooklyn last time around.) The trip should be more fun this time, at least, since Dior is offering a ferry to transport guests to the show. Are "I'm on a boat!" tweets still a thing?
And in other Dior news, the new documentary Dior and I (which takes a look at Raf Simons's first collection for the brand, put together in just a few weeks after the departure of John Galliano) is screening at the Tribeca Film Festival, and is on our list of the ten movies you can't miss.
