Confession time: We thought the fashion at last night's Costume Institute gala for the Metropolitan Museum of Art was pretty boring. There were some standouts (Sarah Jessica Parker serving some Carrie Bradshaw realness? Approved!), but overall it was snoresville. That's why we're grateful for a couple of "only in New York" moments and some seriously questionable outfit choices that kept things interesting. Here are our WTF moments from last night's red carpet.

    Attack of the streaker!

Looks like streaking at a fashion event is becoming a trend. Following a naked intruder at the fall shows of Prabal Gurung and Nina Ricci, a man wearing a hot-pink mankini (not sure who designed it) tried to storm onto the red carpet. Security stopped him before he got there, but he definitely caused a commotion.

    Attack of the pigeons!

Okay, it wasn't like a scene from The Birds, but a few pigeons did make their way onto the red carpet (wearing their own designs) and got stuck under the tent. We're disappointed that Anna Wintour didn't channel her inner George Costanza and try to run them over.

    Attack of Sandra Lee's dress!

Speaking of commotions, Sandra Lee's dress was…something. You know, she's dating New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. If they ever get married, this dress could be a sneak peek of what she'd wear down the aisle.

    Attack of Erykah Badu's hat!

Pharrell called. He wants his hat back.

Attack of Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka!

Oh no! One of our favorite NYC couples must've thought this was a costume ball. And then maybe thought it had some sort of circus theme? If only the theme was "punk" again. NPH could've worn his Hedwig ensemble.
