With more than 60 categories of costumes including plus-size options, this superstore has been fulfilling New Yorkers’ October 31 fantasies for 50 years and claims to have the largest selection of costumes in the universe. Owner Doug Baker estimates that about 25 percent of his costumes now come in sizes up to XL or 4X, depending on the brand, due completely to customer demand. Curvy Batgirls and sexy French maids sizes 18 to 20 can pick up full packaged getups for $60 a pop, while dudes can scare the crap out of everyone in Freddy Krueger costumes in sizes 46 to 52 ($40). Frank Bee Costume also offers wigs, special-effects makeup, and scads of hats like wizard cones and pilgrim bonnets.
