Opera singer and med student turned It designer Giovanna Randall just opened her first brick-and-mortar boutique, having shown her debut collection at Spring 2011 New York Fashion Week. Tucked into a Meatpacking District block, Honor pops out as girly and glam, with gold accents and mannequins outfitted in colorful dresses lounging in the windows. The space feels comfortable and homey thanks to a neutral color palette, tons of seating, and personal touches like an antique writing desk and a typewriter. You’ll want to try on everything in the luxe dressing rooms, which are lined with carpet and hidden behind rose-colored velvet curtains. Ladies with serious money to spend will adore silk floral minidresses ($2,600), floor-length cotton trench coats ($2,500) and chiffon blouses with side sashes ($895). Randall aims to create a full lifestyle shop, so there’s Bellocq organic tea ($40–$52) and a library stocked with vintage and new titles that inspired the designer’s spring collection, such as Catherine Deneuve: Portraits Choisis, by Antoinette Fouque ($126), and In Italy by Roloff Beny ($25).
