How to make fabric wrapped bangles
Thu May 22 2008

This project takes less than five minutes and is an easy (and nonpermanent) way to update some clunkers you have lying around.

1. Choose a bangle. Recycle an old one or buy an inexpensive one from someplace like Forever21 (which has them for about $5; go to forever21.com).

2. Cut a strip of fabric, roughly an inch wide (you can use an old dress or shirt, or buy some at moodfabrics.com). Frayed edges add to the DIY aesthetic.

3. Using your forefinger, hold one end of the fabric to the inside of the bangle. Wrap the fabric around the bangle so that each successive turn secures the piece before it. Repeat until you’ve covered the bangle entirely.

4. Tie a knot and trim the ends of the fabric.
