Julie Atlas Muz, 36, international performing artist and burlesque star (julieatlasmuz.com); Lower East Side

Her style: "My style is a punk-rock, colorful, naked-ish Rainbow Brite."

Her inspirations: "I look to my friends: Bambi the Mermaid, Glenn Marla, Tigger! and Scott Parent, Kenny Kenny, Dirty Martini, Flawless Sabrina and so many others. I am lucky enough to live in a high-fashion subculture of the avant-tarde. Other things that inspire me: coral reef fish, Barbarella, circus clothing, and anything sparkly, see-through or sexy."

Favorite local stores: "City Opera Thrift Shop for fabulous old-school New York stuff, the Halloween Adventure superstore, and Trash & Vaudeville—a New York institution."

Favorite local designers: "David Quinn (davidquinnnewyork.com), Garo Sparo (garosparo.com), Machine Dazzle (dazzledancers.com), MsTickle (myspace.com/mstickle), Crystal Thompson (myspace.com/crystalcostumes), The Blonds (theblondsnewyork.com), Shelly Bomb (myspace.com/hellybomb) and many, many more."

Go-to bargain spot: "The Garment District. It's heaven on earth."

The greatest dresser of all time: "Liberace."
