This West Village storefront has switched back and forth between a Marc by Marc Jacobs shop and a Marc Jacobs Collection store, but it looks like the latter, premier brand won out. The recently remodeled boutique’s muted, modern black, white and gray palette doesn’t distract from the top-of-the-line bags, scarves, shoes and fragrances. MJ’s cult following can find his forever-cool pieces, such as quilted leather satchels with gold chain straps ($1,395), leather cross-body bags with square front pockets ($595) and metallic Mary Jane pumps ($775). Or make a smaller investment with flirty, floral Lola perfumes ($88), unisex metal aviator sunglasses ($295) and quilted leather key pouches ($175). If you miss the easy-priced Marc by Marc Jacobs line, you won’t have to look far for your next fix—the trinkets its best known for have popped up across the street at Bookmarc, Jacobs’s newly opened bookstore.
