We'll admit that when we think about riding a bike around the city, stylish isn't the first word that comes to mind. For most of us, bike rides usually end in sweaty backs and helmet hair. But in his new book, New York Bike Style (out next month), photographer/writer Sam Polcer shows us you can look trendy on two wheels.

The book, based on Polcer's blog Preferred Mode, is filled with stunning full-page photos of stylish New Yorkers posing with their bikes. The tome features fashionistas with fixed-gear bikes, BMX kids in their streetcar clothing, bold names like David Byrne and even dapper dudes wearing suits as they bike to work. (How do they not show up to the office a sweaty mess?!?)

Regardless of what your personal bike style is, check out a sneak peek of these photos from the book, and you'll probably rethink your wardrobe the next time you go for a ride.
