Most stylish New Yorkers: Audrey Lea Curry

“This is my statement look. It says ‘Audrey Lea Curry,” the fashionista says. She wears a black dress from Ashley Stewart (locations throughout city; visit ashleystewart.com for more info).

Petite hammered silver and bronze disks dangle from an etched silver cuff, which is linked to Curry’s middle-finger ring by a delicate chain. The one-of-a-kind item was designed by Damien Shippee for Malan Breton (malanbreton.com).

On her left hand, the artistic model-stylist flashes a wing bauble by local designer Amazon Barbi, which she picked up at Re/Dress NYC, and an Arabic snake ring that she purchased from the Oriental Institute in Chicago.

The vintage Fashions by Marilyn white tulle headpiece topping Curry’s long strands was an Urban Jungle find.

Curry’s zigzag embroidered black-and-white jacket is vintage Nomi Rubenstein from Re/Dress NYC.

She pairs black patent-leather Mary Janes from Nordstrom Rack with Cuddl Duds (cuddlduds.com) opaque tights. “[The tights] are amazing because not only are they warm, but they’re long enough for me. Being 6'3", it’s hard to find leggings or tights [that fit my frame],” says Curry.

Curry accessorizes with a luxe Devi Kroell natural sea snake slouchy purse, a gift from a former boss.

A vintage David Meister frock from Re/Dress NYC “has an amazing waist accent with an attached belt to give it more shape,” Curry says.

Pinned to Curry’s vintage fur stole—another Re/Dress NYC discovery—is a Giorgio Armani jeweled turtle brooch she bought about three years ago in Chicago.  Curry adds a chunky gold woven-fabric chain. “I am in love with these handmade Luxidermy by Taueret necklaces,” she shares.

The artist-model uses a vintage belt from Urban Jungle as a headband. Her vintage Chanel earrings were borrowed from her sister. “These earrings, along with the necklace and the dress’s belt accent, give this look a nautical feel,” Curry explains.

Curry steps out in her Franco Sarto booties from Nordstrom Rack. They’re her “go-to shoes for any occasion.”

Continuing to flaunt her passion for vintage, Curry carries a gold-trimmed leather clutch she scored from Urban Jungle. On the same hand, she wears a gold cuff-ring hybrid by Damien Shippee for Malan Breton. “These pieces were never mass-produced,” she says. “I love the fact that the chain connecting the ring and bracelet add jewelry to a part of the hand that is neglected a lot of the time.”

“This is more casual than most things I wear, but I love it all the same,” observes the vintage-style buff, who models a versatile Old Navy garment from Re/Dress NYC. “I would wear this to a movie or dinner, possibly even out to a bar.”

Curry dons an array of finger candy on her left hand. The stainless-steel band on her middle finger is part of a sextet: “I had it custom-made for myself and five of my girlfriends in Chicago. Engraved on the inside are the words six in the city.” She also decorates her digits with an Arabic snake from the Windy City’s Oriental Institute, as well as an armorlike ring found at a random West Village shop. The silver-and-marcasite oval on her pinky, a gift from her mother, was found in Mexico.

Her right hand also showcases several eclectic accessories. The silver spoon ring on her thumb is from an antiques store in Vincennes, Indiana, and was crafted in 1910. On her middle finger is a silver-and-malachite oval borrowed from her sister, while the brighter green rectangle is from the West 25th Street Market (W 25th St between Broadway and Sixth Ave; hellskitchenfleamarket.com; Sat, Sun 9am–5pm). “This belt is a fun little number I found at New York and Co.  It’s so versatile—even as a fun Grecian head wrap,” says Curry.

Curry carries a vintage leather mini doctor bag purchased from Urban Jungle.

This vintage faux-fur topper scored from Re/Dress NYC is Curry’s most cherished recent addition to her wardrobe.
