Gabi Gregg, 24, fashion blogger (youngfatandfabulous.com) and MTV's first "Twitter jockey," Harlem
Her personal style: "I describe my style as city chic. It's confident, fun and funky. I love trends but always try to incorporate unique finds."
Her inspirations: "I love Alexa Chung, Beth Ditto, Karla Deras, the Olsen twins and Kanye West. I'm also constantly inspired by the street style in New York."
Favorite NYC stores: "I love Topshop (478 Broadway between Broome and Grand Sts; 212-966-9555, topshop.com) because it's always up-to-date with runway trends. Re/Dress NYC (109 Boerum Pl between Dean and Pacific Sts, Boerum Hill, Brooklyn; 718-522-7962) is a plus-size vintage store in Brooklyn that I adore, for obvious reasons. Don't laugh, but Forever 21 in Times Square (1540 Broadway between 45th and 46th Sts; 212-302-0594, forever21.com) is a favorite because it carries plus sizes, and it's affordable and trendy. When you wear above a size 16, it's not easy to find things that are in style."
Her signature item: "I'm known for wearing lots of blazers. I think they perfectly complete any outfit."
Favorite local designers: "I love Zana Bayne's (zanabayne.com) leather harnesses. They can transform any outfit into something a little more special and she's constantly introducing new ways to wear leather that I'd never even considered. I also love Fennimas jewelry (fennimas.com), which I'm wearing almost exclusively in my outfits pictured. I've always been a fan of loud statement jewelry, and it never seemed easy to find until I discovered Fennimas. I own so much of it now!"
How her style has evolved over the last two decades: "My style is constantly evolving. I used to love dressing like a hippie and shopped only at thrift stores. It's definitely become much more sleek and modern. I think the biggest change has been my attitude. I'm much more confident with my body now than I've ever been, and it really shows in what I choose to wear."
On starting her blog and how it affects her style: "I started my blog in October 2008 because there were very few, if any, resources out there that were directly targeting young plus-size women. I wanted to show people that it's possible to look great and stylish at any size. I challenge myself more and try to push boundaries and break rules in terms of what people my size are 'supposed' to wear. I ignore what other people say and dress for myself."
