Shipley & Halmos pop-up
Designers Sam Shipley and Jeff Halmos open a temporary shop for their indie menswear label, making this the first stand-alone store for the brand. The modern space, which features exposed-brick walls and custom metal displays, will house choice items from the duo’s line of clothing ($85–$960) and accessories ($25–$395), as well as a selection of kitschy gifts ($1–$120) as a nod to Canal Street’s popular Chinatown shopping area. Splurge on soft chambray button-downs ($195) and hand-painted leather iPhone cases ($150) made in collaboration with Billykirk (billykirk.com), or stock up on greetings from canal street graphic tees ($40–$50), and oversize foam hands emblazoned with taxi!, meant jokingly for hailing cabs ($15). 385 Canal St between Thompson St and West Broadway (shipley-halmos.com). Daily 11am–6pm.
