Her style: "I like to play a bit of make-believe when I get dressed."

Her inspirations: "I get inspired by my favorite characters from history and films, like the legendary style Joan of Arc, the adventurous glamour of Amelia Earhart, the darkness of David Lynch and the classic style of Godard's starlets."

Favorite local stores: "TG170 has been one of my favorite stores since moving to New York ten years ago," says Pleet. "I was a customer there before I stared my line, and it was the first store that bought my collection. It's a legendary, magical place! ABC Carpet & Home is another really magical store; it's like going into a museum where you can touch everything. I always find tons of inspiration at Screaming Mimi's—plus I've been shopping there since high school. Whenever I walk into Bergdorf Goodman, I feel like I am stepping into an old movie—it's just so glamorous!"

Favorite local designers: "So many of my friends are brilliant designers, including Rachel Antonoff (rachelantonoff.com), Bodkin (bodkin.us), Cheek-ie (cheek-ie.com), Pamela Love (pamelalovenyc.com), Mary Meyer (marymeyerclothing.com), The Lake & Stars (thelakeandstars.com), Rebecca Turbow (rebeccaturbow.com) and many more. I'm lucky to be part of this community!"

Go-to bargain spot: "The Refinery29 SaveFashion events are a great place to find bargains from independent designers."

Most-hated trend: "Drop-crotch pants."

The greatest dresser of all time: "Anna Karina. She was a muse of Godard and acted in many of his films, but she was also a director and wrote screenplays. Her style was always elegant, classic and cool."
