Spa Castle is opening a Manhattan outpost this fall
No more trekking to Queens for spa-goers: The shopping-mall-sized water playground is getting a sister in the city

You've likely either heard about or been to Spa Castle, the expansive sauna-and-bath mecca in College Point, Queens. For many, the train-plus-bus commute feels much like an exhausting trip to La Guardia Airport, rather than a relaxing outing to a day spa. But that's about to change, as the brand is launching a new outpost in Manhattan. With the name Spa Castle Premier, we can only imagine more high-end spa perks (and probably a heftier price tag for services).
The news broke yesterday when Gothamist reported on the midtown opening, but it appears that this information has been available on the company's corporate site since early February 2013 (is this a typo or are we all just a year behind?). The "urban resort" will open on three floors at 115 East 57th Street between Park and Lexington Avenues—an address previously leased by New York Racquet and Tennis Club. The 38,000-square-foot oasis will live on the eighth, ninth and tenth floors, putting ample distance between you and the rumble of the subway.
Though many details are still being kept secret, the new Manhattan facilities are set to debut this fall and will definitely feature a bade pool and outdoor sun deck. We've also got our fingers crossed for an updated Sauna Valley and food catered by noteworthy NYC chefs. Dreams are coming true, you guys.
