Levi’s x Liberty of London
Fans of the British department store’s retro floral prints will be clamoring for the 15 pieces of Levi’s women’s denim garb ($90–$250), adorned with two exclusive Liberty of London patterns. A hand-painted 1970s watercolor design is the main focus of the limited-edition collection, and is fabric-blocked onto Western-style shirts, cropped boyfriend jeans, bustiers and shrunken denim jackets. The second, more subtle motif is inspired by a 1940s pointillist painting and laser-printed onto skinny jeans and cutoff shorts. Both bohemian-inflected styles will ensure you’re suitably prepped for summer’s festival circuit. Levi’s, locations throughout the city; visit us.levi.com. Available May 5.
Banana Republic Milly Collection
Designer Michelle Smith makes her first foray into menswear with this 60-piece collection of Hamptons-inspired duds for guys ($25–$65) and gals ($45–$175). Banana Republic’s tailored silhouettes get a youthful spin through Milly’s mod, graphic prints, including one that was created exclusively for the collaboration. Expect them to adorn A-line skirts and tanks, while punches of neon will pop up on shorts, polos and woven tees. There’s also a smattering of accessories ($40–$180), such as jewelry and beach totes, to help you get fully decked for your ride on the Jitney. Banana Republic, locations throughout the city; visit bananarepublic.com. Available May 30.
Kate Hudson for Ann Taylor
Although this isn’t the all-American actor’s first time working with Ann Taylor (she served as a celebrity face for five of the womenswear chain’s campaigns), it is Kate Hudson’s first stab at designing. Little is known about the capsule collection, other than it will attempt to translate her red-carpet style into everyday attire—here’s hoping an affordable version of the Alexander McQueen keyhole gown she wore to this year’s Golden Globes is in our future. Ann Taylor, locations throughout the city; visit anntaylor.com. Available May 20.
