View an awesome art installation at Anthropologie this week
Head to Anthropologie's Chelsea Market location for some serious home-decor inspiration
Mon May 12 2014
If you stopped by Anthropologie's Chelsea Market outpost today, you probably saw Japanese artist Koji Iyama and a bunch of rolls of tape. Iyama is the head designer for mt, a Japanese washi-tape company, and (with the help of a team of 15 artists) is in the middle of creating a colorful tape installation that will look something along the lines of the photo above (it's one of his past works). The installation is scheduled to be finished by the end of the day, and will be on view until May 26.
If the artwork leaves you feeling inspired, you're in luck. Iyama is leading a free workshop on Wednesday, May 14 (noon–3pm) at the Chelsea Market store. And Anthropologie is selling five limited-edition styles of tape in addition to 29 other rolls ($5–$14). If only it could provide the help of 15 artists to lend a hand with your project, too.
