Annie Zhu worked as an optician for ten years before teaming up with
her longtime friend Michelle Ho to open this eyewear boutique. The
lime-walled space carries a diverse selection of stylish, high-end
European and Japanese frames, as well as American designer classics,
including funky, colorful Fysh eyeglasses ($259); David Yurman gold-
plated aviators ($529); oversize Kate Spade sunglasses ($139); and
geeky Paul Frank glasses ($169). Vision Essential also provides an on-
premise optometrist on Sundays and Mondays and by special appointment
(eye exam $65, with the purchase of glasses $45). Ho and Zhu are
committed to customer service and often keep the store open after-
hours to accommodate local patrons.
