Previously located near Columbus Circle, this tranquil spa is taking up a temporary space inside hotel AKA Sutton Place until it moves to a permanent residence in May. Former actress Janet League-Katzin founded the retreat after feeling the harsh effects of a city lifestyle on her body. With an Eastern ideology, Sphatika integrates ayurveda, homeopathy, vitamin therapy and crystal healing into its products and treatments. Step inside the Shanti Loka, or “place of peace,” and find an all-white oasis featuring an eco-friendly sauna for pre- and post-appointment relaxation (complimentary with all services). Try full-body detoxification with lymphatic drainage (three hours, $375), antiaging facials (75mins, $150) using gentle electrical currents, and rejuvenating singing-bowl experiences that incorporate crystal energies and a steam canopy ($250–$375). Take home products from the in-house skin-care line ($20–$215), such as fennel-scented gommage exfoliating creams ($65) and Bulgarian rose facial oils ($88).
