“I’ve moved 30 times in my life, and I’m only 30 years old. I’ve lived in D.C., Boston, Miami, L.A. and New York. Whenever I move to a new city, I look at how to re-create my lifestyle. I’m kind of an outdoorsy person, and I had a hard time re-creating that in New York City. I mapped out all the towns in New Jersey, Westchester and New York City—there had to be place where young people live a balanced, outdoorsy lifestyle. This is how I got the idea for my company, NabeWise (nabewise.com), which helps people find out where they should be living by categorizing neighborhoods by different attributes like family, singles, shopping, nightlife.“I ended up in Hoboken: I found a one-bedroom for $1,800 in a new-construction building, two blocks from the PATH. I have a doorman, and I can see the waterfront. It’s literally five minutes to the West Village on the PATH—it’s like living in downtown New York for $1,000 less, with safe, beautiful sidewalks. I joke that I like to live one block from a snobby gym and one block from a snobby grocery store.
