Close readers will recognize our column "The regular"—a profile of an obsessive restaurant or bar patron—from our print pages. But for those of you who've missed it, we'd like to introduce you to our latest booth-warmer, Linda Fairstein, a fixture at Aretsky's Patroon.
Mystery novel enthusiasts know this diner. She's the author of the very popular Alex Cooper crime series—11 books, including the forthcoming Hell Gate. But we like her best for her dining habits: She hits the midtown steakhouse twice a month for a black-and-blue steak. "They make the world's best profiteroles," she says of her dessert of choice. "They are in just about every book!" Read Jordana Rothman's profile of Fairstein here.
