Chef Daniel Yi brings Manhattan-honed kitchen cred to Sunnyside, his lifelong 'hood, with Salt & Fat, a relaxed New American canteen set to open next week. Yi's haute pedigree—he cut his teeth at Sapa and Monkey Bar alongside Patricia Yeo—comes through in a menu of globally influenced small plates, like oxtail terrine with caramelized-onion puree and roasted mushrooms, and yellowtail cured in kombu with speck and pickled jalapeos.
