The three-minute Flipcam concert: Adam Green
Thu Jan 14 2010
Even leaving aside his work in the Moldy Peaches, Adam Green ranks among the city's strangest and most engaging young songwriters. Over a string of solo albums—his sixth, Minor Love, comes out next month on Fat Possum—he has created a body of work that's deceivingly smart and, thus, underrated. Leaps of logic abound; absurdist humor rubs against pathos, while unlikely styles clash. Below, Green gives a taste of Minor Love, singing the album's "Castles and Tassels" in his Manhattan apartment. See this space for two more Green performances plus a short interview when the album hits stores February 16. Green plays the Fillmore at Irving Plaza on Saturday, January 16, on a bill with British band the Cribs.
