Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark tangled in a web of hype, backlash and gossip

Hey, everybody! Did you hear that Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark (the show so overbudget it couldn't afford a colon in the title) already opened last night, after its very first public preview? No? Oh, then WHY IS EVERY BROADWAY MUCKRAKER AND RUBBERNECKER AND NEWSHOUND OFFERING THEIR TWO CENTS ON THE SHOW, WHICH HAS SIX MORE WEEKS OF PREVIEWS AND BY ALL ACCOUNTS IS NOT READY TO BE SEEN BY THE PUBLIC?  Of course, you can turn around and ask producers why they are selling full-price seats to what amounts to a glorified workshop. Hard to find out who's the villain here and who's the hero.
