Sad news for NYC's music community: According to reports, Williamsburg space 285 Kent may have hosted its final show last night. In an interview with My Social List posted last week, promoter Todd P—the man behind the space, as well as many of the city's other DIY venues—mentioned that 285's "days were numbered."
Although Todd P wouldn't confirm the space's closure, curator Ric Leichtung tweeted that the venue hadn't booked any shows for the forseeable future. And the Village Voice's recap of last night's 285 show—a set by Estonion singer and producer Maria Minerva—reads like a eulogy for the venue.
More news as we get it, but let's all keep our fingers crossed that it's not true, huh?
