A day in the life of 852 Instagram photos (video)
This short film juxtaposes hundreds of Instagram snapshots—many of the same subject—into one stop-motion clip
Mon Nov 25 2013
Take a #nofilter trip around the world with this short video made from 852 Instagram images. Art director Thomas Jullien used photographs from the social-media site to compile a stop-motion clip that takes viewers from Sydney to Paris to New York—sometimes in the span of one surreal, sped-up minute. For example, snapshots upon snapshots bring us closer to the Arc de Triomphe in France's capital—then the view swivels and we're suddenly looking at the Washington Square Arch. In the same style, repeated popsicle images give way to a rocket ship taking off. Iconic NYC structures like the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building also appear.
"Instagram is an incredible resource for all kinds of images," said the filmmaker on his website. "I wanted to create structure out of this chaos. The result is a crowd source short-film that shows the endless possibilities of social media."
