Banksy is at it again! The popular wall-sprayer announced an exhibit, “Better Out than In,” on the streets of New York City for the month of October. In the artist's typically enigmatic style, he first hinted at the open-air show with clue-laden posters in L.A.—and now he's officially in town.
Yesterday the intrepid folks at the Village Voice found his first image at 18 Allen Street—but sadly it was already painted over by this morning. You can click through before-and-after photos of the graffiti above. A second installment of the exhibit surfaced today on West 25th Street between Tenth and Eleventh Avenues.
There is an 800 number next to each piece in “Better Out than In,” and calling it yields a wacky audio guide to the stencil. If you want to participate in the unofficial scavenger hunt, consult the artist's Twitter and Instagram for hints.
