Explore Gotham’s boozy past in this exhibit, which traces local beer production and consumption over the past several centuries. You’ll learn about New Amsterdam’s first tavern, established by the Dutch West India Company in 1640 to 1644, as well as how beer served as a vital source of nourishment to colonial residents. When you’ve absorbed your fill of local hops history, down a cold one in the beer hall at the end of the exhibit.
