For this BAM Next Wave Festival presentation, Bryce Dessner has convened a group of eight composers, along with filmmaker Matt Wolf and the Brooklyn Youth Chorus. Their collective project takes as its theme the revolutionary artistic playfulness that held sway at North Carolina's Black Mountain College, circa the joint heyday of John Cage, Merce Cunningham and Robert Rauschenberg. Composers contributing to this multimedia performance piece include Dessner, Nico Muhly, Richard Reed Parry, John King and Pulitzer Prize winner Caroline Shaw, among others.
