[SPONSORED] Visit Montral:Cirque du Soleil: TOTEM
Wed May 25
Hey there! I'm Jean-Francois and this is my brother Jean-Christophe. Or maybe it's the other way around, I don't even know. Everyone gets us mixed up so why can't I? We're half-bird and half-cat which makes us the most agile creatures ever. Think about it. You know it's true. We love the circus and we know this much: if you want to see the best circus performers in the world, you need to do it in Montral.
It's home to the National Circus School, has a whole festival that revolves around the circus, and is where the greatest circus troupe in the world, Cirque du Soleil, got started.
The latest Cirque du Soleil show, TOTEM is going to be amazing. How do we know? It covers the entire evolution of the human species in one of the most amazing eye-popping air and brain defying acrobatic extravaganzas that Cirque has ever done. My brother and I were totally going to be in the show but they cut us after they found out that we can't actually fly that well. Which is true, but...

Live photos: Brown Girls Burlesque
Wed May 25
On April 30, the Brown Girls Burlesque troupe took control of Bowery Poetry Club for a show named Raunch and Revolution. As you might expect from the title, the presentation was politically charged, exploring themes of race, gender, imperialism, environmental issues and more. Oh, yeah—there were lots of women taking off their clothes as well. And here are the pictures to prove it! (Photographs: Syd London)
Photo of the day: Rain man relaxing
Wed May 25
This image was submitted by New York Daily Photo: "This man had crafted a very extensive wardrobe that appears to be extremely well-suited for a day of predicted rain during a very wet spring. His possessions were neatly packed in bags, also made from plastic."

Last-minute plan: Rooftop Films' "Dark Toons"
Wed May 25
In this gorgeous weather, we're down for doing almost anything outside—especially, say, boozing and catching an outdoor gig or screening. Tonight, Rooftop Films offers all three with its "Dark Toons" series, which promises freaky animated shorts, a live show by poppy electro outfit Silver Swans (8:30pm) and a postscreening shindig fueled by gratis pours of Radberger Pilsner. Head to the series' site for tix. And check out more of our favorite Rooftop Films affairs and our complete guide to this summer's free outdoor movie showings. On the pier near Solar One, E 23rd St at the East River (rooftopfilms.com). 9pm, gates 8pm; $10.
