In case you were wondering, cronut mania in NYC hasn't exactly died down since this summer's peak mania. A photo posted by creator Dominique Ansel on Tuesday—you may recall it was sleeting and freezing—shows folks lining up for the hybrid treat. But now, as it turns out, waiting in line or even being in NYC isn't necessary.… Cronut delivery has arrived.
Dominique Ansel Bakery has teamed up with food-delivery company Goldbely to ship the dessert anywhere in the U.S. Here's the catch: It's for this weekend only. The sale started at 6pm today and ends Sunday at 11:59pm, with a limited number of the goodies going on sale every hour. The cronuts, currently in their December Valrhona Chocolate Champagne glory, will be baked Monday and overnighted so as to arrive nice and fresh next Tuesday. Each one will set you back $5, same as in the bakery, as Goldbely has got shipping costs covered. Ready, set, go!
