Check out the Kickstarter Film Festival this Saturday (video)
Everything at this event has been crowdsourced, from the flicks to the snacks to the performing artists.

For the third year, Kickstarter is throwing a festival to show off the films produced through its crowd-funding platform. Grab a blanket and head to Williamsburg's Havemeyer Park this Saturday for a series of sunset screenings. There will be first-rate food vendors on hand, all from restaurant ventures launched via Kickstarter. We're especially looking forward to chowing down on New England–style seafood from Littleneck, brisket hot dogs from Snap, ice pops from Brewla Bars and fancy popcorn from Pop Karma. Because what's a movie without popcorn?
Selections from over ten films will be aired. Keep an eye out forPortrait of Jason, the 1967 Shirley Clarke documentary about African-American hustler Jason Holliday restored thanks to Kickstarter, and Style Wars…The Outtakes, which reveals never-before-seen scenes from the iconic 1983 flick about NYC's blossoming graffiti-writing and break-dancing scenes. Also intriguing is Blank on Blank, a doc that brings to life journalists' never-published interviews with folks such as Fidel Castro and Thom Yorke.
There will be live performances from multidisciplinary artists (we'll let you guess how they funded their projects). Check out a light and sculpture installation from Nuit Blanche, which brought an all-night art bonanza to Greenpoint, and orchestral pop from Seattle composer and songwriter Jherek Bischoff (also known as Amanda Palmer's bassist).
Kickstarter Film Fest is happening this Saturday, August 3, 7pm–midnight, and it's also a great opportunity to check out the newly opened Havemeyer Park (South 3rd St between Kent and Wythe Aves, Williamsburg, Brooklyn). It's free, but an R.S.V.P. is encouraged. Check out clips and trailers before of our top picks for the fest.
