Today, BuzzFeed pointed us to Acclaimed Music, a super in-depth website by expert number-cruncher Henrik Franzon. The Swedish statistician compiles critics' best-of lists from all over the world to provide rankings of albums, artists and songs in rock history. The Velvet Underground is New York's ultimate victor, and we've taken it upon ourselves to break down the rankings by borough.

Here were our findings, with videos embedded below for your listening pleasure: Lou Reed, John Cale & Co. hail from Manhattan; punk-rock pioneers the Ramones took the Queens crown; the beloved Beastie Boys reign in Brooklyn; the Bronx produced hip-hop trailblazer Grandmaster Flash; and classic rap collective Wu-Tang Clan emerged triumphantly from Staten Island.
These may be the most acclaimed artists based on stats, but do you think they best represent each borough? (Other musicians who just missed the cut: Jay-Z, LCD Soundsystem, Simon & Garfunkel and Steely Dan.)
