Role description


The Creative Services Director will be tasked with inventing and building out world-class, high impact, integrated marketing programs for Time Out’s large breadth of advertising/marketing partners.  We are looking for an energetic self-starter who can dive in and immediately add value by developing innovative, multi-platform, integrated marketing programs with the purpose for driving advertising revenue across the Time Out platform. Must have a proven track record of delivering complex programs classified as ‘Big Ideas’ within short turnaround times. This individual should be able to ‘Wow Nike’ utilizing the Time Out platform at the core of such programs. The Director will be the head of the Time Out “internal agency” who’s mission it is to support the sales team in closing deals with Time Out.

 

This is a tremendous opportunity to build on Time Out’s transformation into a global integrated media solutions platform.  This position reports directly to the Chief Revenue Officer.

Key responsibilities

    •    Act as an internal liaison between Sales, Product, Marketing, Business Development, Editorial, etc. whereby strong, solution-focused ideas can be created
    •    Develop a coherent story of the Time Out Creative Solutions value proposition for the advertising marketplace
    •    Proactively identify 3rd party companies that Time Out can partner with whereby products/opportunities are created to drive revenue
    •    Create and position multi-platform marketing programs to the Sales team
    •    Develop diligent, thoughtful, and accurate responses to RFPs and sales presentations
    •    Develop 360 degree client-focused advertising/marketing programs that draw from diverse resources
    •    Drive all sales materials and client community communication through a CRM solution
    •    Help drive revenue for key accounts and categories through market research, strategic understanding and third party partnership development
    •    Grow revenue and profitability to achieve the businesses sales goals
    •    Work collaboratively with Sales and Sales Operations to ensure client satisfaction
    •    Work in coordination of the Sales and Sales Operations on product, package and positioning to scale revenue within and across key verticals
    •    Identify, prioritize and articulate market needs to internal teams
    •    Gather market information from brand-direct advertisers and ad agencies to drive the evolution of company's business plan and strategy
    •    Participate in client meetings to help convey Time Out’s value proposition, ideas, and future opportunities
    •    Be a passionate advocate and an industry expert where applicable

Desired Skills and Experience:

    •    Appreciation and ability to articulate how integrated marketing solution deliver solid solutions of clients marketing and communication needs
    •    5 + years of sales development and/or marketing experience in a related industry
    •    Ability to think strategically and execute methodically
    •    Strong experience in project management, working with a diverse team
    •    Ability to analyze data/research/insights to develop market-facing ideas that help drive revenue
    •    Knowledge of mobile, social and media markets, competition and customers
    •    Knowledge of cross-platform advertising sales, marketing, event and related research
    •    Ability to comprehend current media marketplace and communicate Time Out’s position within that landscape
    •    Strong communication and people skills, team player, flexible and able to work under pressure against tight deadlines
    •    Strong writing skills and track record in implementing successful digital, mobile, social, print and/or live events
    •    Proven ability to develop and implement creative, strategic, revenue-driving marketing initiatives
    •    Proven success in execution of marketing programs from conception to completion
    •    Proven experience developing presentations
    •    Proficient public speaker
