Time Out says

Ten teams are set to throw down in this second annual Rockaway bout, which kicks off with “beach time,” when you can mingle with the crafters (noon–2pm), and culminates in an after-party at Rippers with DJ Lucas Walters (6–9pm). Beginning at 2pm, contestants have three hours to build their grainy artworks, which will be judged by a six-person panel; among the arbiters are MoMA chief curator at large and MoMA PS1 director Klaus Biesenbach, and 2012 winners Jen Catron and Paul Outlaw. Expect to be impressed: The inaugural edition featured a Roman Colosseum by Marie Lorenz, a tunnel to China by Tom Sachs, a human Trevi Fountain from Catron and Outlaw, and a hair-salon-cum-bowling-alley by Dustin Yellin. Local food vendors, including Rockaway Taco, the Big Banana, DiCosmo’s Italian Ice and Caracas Rockaway, will be on site throughout the day to fuel the creativity. Boardwalk at Beach 86th St, The Rockaways, Queens. Subway: A, Rockaway S to Beach 90th St.
