Orchard St between Delancey and E Houston Sts. Subway: F to Delancey St, J to Delancey–Essex Sts. Lower East Side night owls might head out a little early to partake in DayLife. Organizers will lay Astroturf on the street to create a pop-up park filled with badminton, croquet and specially designed pushcarts, harking back to the neighborhood’s immigrant past. From mobile counters, local vendors will peddle their wares, such as treats from Mission Chinese and Meatball Shop. Attendees can take a free outdoor yoga class from Yoga High, try their hand at turntablism with a lesson from Scratch DJ Academy and see scarfers celebrate Katz’s Deli 125th anniversary with a pastrami-eating contest. Jazz groups, klezmer bands and DJs will be playing throughout the day. If you need to get out of the elements, duck in to Tammany Hall (152 Orchard St between Rivington and Stanton Sts) for live music curated by neighboring concert venue the Living Room.
