Dorney Lake Off Court Lane, Windsor, Dorney, SL4 6QP
The London 2012 Games should liven things up at Eton College, posh alma mater of Prime Minister David Cameron and London Mayor Boris Johnson. The lake, set in 400 acres of park, had a dry run for the Games when it hosted the 2006 Rowing World Championships, but further improvements to the eight-lane, 2,200m course and the warm-up lanes were completed in summer 2010, along with a new cut-through and two bridges. The venue is expecting 30,000 visitors daily.
